How do I book a room?

Choose your dates and number of guests on the Rooms page, pick a room and a rate, and follow the checkout. You'll see the full price, the deposit and the cancellation terms before you pay, and everything is saved in your account.

Can I book several rooms for a group?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the Rooms page, choose your dates and select several rooms (up to 8): they are booked together in one checkout, as one booking with one total. For a bigger group or a custom trip with transfers and activities, use the custom trip enquiry form (linked at the bottom of the Rooms page) and we'll put together an offer for you.

Which payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

You can pay online (cards, bank transfer and e-wallets through Midtrans, when available), by bank transfer to our account, or in cash on arrival for rates that allow it. The methods available for your rate are shown at checkout.

Question 4

Do I pay everything up front?

Accepted Answer

With the Standard rate you pay a 30% deposit when you book and the rest before or at check-in. The Non-refundable saver is paid in full when you book.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your rate. The Standard rate is free to cancel until 7 days before check-in, 50% is refunded between 7 and 2 days before, and nothing after that. The saver rate is non-refundable. Your exact terms are shown at checkout and in your booking.

Question 6

Can you pick me up from the airport?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add the airport pickup from Binaka (GNS) to your booking and tell us your flight number and arrival time. The drive to the homestay takes about two hours, and there is room for surfboards.

Can I add extras after booking?

Of course. Send us a message from your account and we'll add the transfer, rentals, lessons or meals you need.

When is the best time to surf on Nias?

The main swell season runs from about April to October, with the most consistent, biggest swells from June to September. The shoulder months are quieter and often have lighter winds. Beginners can find small waves all year.

Is it suitable for beginners?

The famous reefs are for experienced surfers, but there is a gentle beach break near the homestay and our local guides give lessons on soft-top boards.

Is there Wi-Fi and phone signal?

Yes, there is Wi-Fi in all rooms and the lounge, and mobile data works in most places on the north coast. Power cuts happen on the island; our generator keeps the essentials running.

Do you serve meals?

Yes. Breakfast can be added to your booking, and lunch and dinner are cooked to order from our kitchen. Tell us about allergies or diets when you book.

Is the homestay good for families with children?

Accepted Answer

Families are very welcome. The Family Suite sleeps up to five, we can add a baby cot, and the garden is safe for kids. Ask us about calm beaches for swimming: some reefs are only for experienced swimmers.
